ImperGuard® uses innovative impregnation technology to seal the concrete substrate. Unlike traditional sealants, ImperGuard® does not form a film over the surface. Thus, making it permeable to air and water vapour. Furthermore, it is UV resistant and does not turn yellow over time, as in the case with traditional concrete and paving sealants.
The water-repellent properties of ImperGuard® develop very quickly, within a few hours to 3 days (climate dependent). Apply ImperGuard® to protect the paving around your swimming pool, around down pipes, on your patio and any other area where your paving is exposed to water or moisture. ImperGuard® is easy to apply with a low-pressure sprayer and is very cost effective.
In addition to the water repellent properties, ImperGuard® has an anti-dusting action which hardens the surface of the concrete. Making it an ideal sealant for concrete walls and other untreated concrete surfaces which become crumbly, brittle or dusty over time.
Surface Preparation
- Apply the product to a clean, dust-free, grease-free and dry surface.
- To remove stains and traces of pollution, use Guard Wash® Express.
- To remove traces of efflorescence, laitance or grout film, use Guard Remover® Eco Efflorescence & Cement.
- For low porosity materials, use Guard Cleaner Eco® Surface Preparation prior to application.
Application
- Use the product in its pure form – do not dilute it.
- Shake well before use and perform a preliminary test to check that the product has correctly penetrated and the appearance after drying.
- The material must be impregnated up to saturation in a single coat or two coats “wet on wet” depending on the porosity.
- Always apply from bottom to top.
- Do not overload the material, remove any excess before drying. Risk of white marks.
- Protected drying – 24 hours.
- Optimum efficiency reached after 2 to 3 days.
