The ProtectGuard® Color range is a new, hugely popular surface stain and protection for all concrete and masonry vertical surfaces. ProtectGuard Color is an impregnation product that will not peel, flake or fade; making it an ideal alternative to painting concrete.
One product, two functions:
1. Water and oil repellent sealant
ProtectGuard® Color provides long-lasting protection against the main causes of deterioration, i.e., stains of all types, atmospheric pollution, grease marks and water and oil ingress. The cleanliness of the treated surface is therefore ensured.
2. Pigmented concrete stain
ProtectGuard® Color is a stain/sealant specially formulated for concrete. Much like Guard Industry concrete sealants, ProtectGuard® Color uses non-film forming impregnation technology, making the surface permeable to air and water vapour. In contrast to a paint, it is a semi-transparent stain which does not alter the texture of concrete. ProtectGuard® Color is available in over 40 different colours. Custom colours can be mixed on request.
Colour variations are inherent in concrete products. ProtectGuard® Color can be to homogenize colour variations and greatly improve the aesthetics of concrete. Available in a wide range of colour, opacity and protection levels, we can offer a unique and infinitely customisable look. ProtectGuard® Color has been so heavily tested around the world it is backed by AXA International Insurance to last for 10 years.
Surface Preparation
- Apply the product to a clean, dust-free, grease-free and dry surface.
- To remove traces of efflorescence, laitance or grout film, use Guard Cleaner® Eco Surface Preparation.
- To remove grease stains, use Guard Cleaner® Eco Maintenance.
- Rinse carefully until the surface is free of any trace of cleaner.
Application
- Use the product in its pure form – do not dilute it.
- Shake the package well before use as components separate over time.
- Carry out a preliminary test before us.
Application with HVLP spray gun:
- Application from bottom to top in a maximum of 2 to 4 diagonal applications depending on the desired appearance. Do not overload.
- Drying time between each coat: 15 minutes.
- Protected drying: 24 hours.
- Maximum efficiency reached after 7 days.
Application with roller (only used for 100% opacity & non-textured smooth surfaces):
- Application from bottom to top in 2 or 3 coats using a roller, spread the product evenly on the material without overloading. Even out marks with the short-nap roller.
- Drying time between each coat: 30 minutes.
- Protected drying: 24 hours.
- Maximum efficiency reached after 7 days.
